Surf Fishing: August 26

Eight miles north of Seaside, we turned west on to Sunset Beach Road, which provides vehicular access to a 13 mile long stretch of beach and was recommended to us by the Sheriff’s deputy whom we met and with whom we conversed on our shipwreck beach walk the previous afternoon. Pete spends and hour and half tossing hooks baited with calamari into the surf to no avail, but enjoys the sky, the wind and sounds. Pat takes the opportunity for yet another long beach walk. By the time we return to our campsite, it is raining and we spend afternoon at laundering and grocery shopping. Mike’s salmon is awesome.

I wish I could tell you this was the bait!
