Grassland and Dunes at Ft. Stevens Part

Explore other areas of Fort Stevens park, visiting South Jetty, ship wreck, and lake where we picnic and spend better part of afternoon reading on the lake shore. Two mile walk on shipwreck beach at the end of the day. Dinner of grilled steak, slice tomatoes and tossed salad. Intended to have baked potato, but it got reduced to a cinder by being placed too close to the flames in our campfire. Iron Mike, camped in the site next to ours and the Cal Poly quarterback of 1973-74, stops by with a nice portion of the king salmon he caught earlier in the day. After dinner, we visit with him and his wife who had just completed the Hood to coast relay.
